Based in Salisbury, Queensland, MyLab Pathology operates a state-of-the-art NATA accredited laboratory. Proficient in performing a combination of physical techniques, cell staining and immunohistochemistry testing to process specimens, MyLab have always been recognised for their efficient turnaround time and patient care. The ability to perform multiple tests in-house and on-demand, ensures efficient diagnostic services are offered, with results provided within 24 to 48 hours.
About The Role Applications are invited for the position of Locum Dermatopathologist who has the capacity to report on a minimum of 150 cases per week. The role will be based at MyLab’s main laboratory in Salisbury on Brisbane’s southside. Digital reporting set up available for remote reporting.
The role will see you being responsible for:
- Providing assessment and advice to laboratory staff and any other medical staff in relation to dermatopathology investigations and interpretation of results.
- Identify and report abnormal results, along with the support of two external experts who consult on difficult cases if required.
- Practising and promoting quality practices and standards.
- Provide a diagnostic service, covering all aspects of Dermatopathology.
- Provide an overall contribution to the successful operation of MyLab Pathology.

In addition, MyLab is an accredited CPD Education provider for the RACGP. MyLab’s Director, Former President of the Skin Cancer College of Australasia offers and runs several accredited courses for doctors hoping to improve their skin cancer management skills.
With more than 100 referrers across Australia, the MyLab Pathology business operates with a full complement of professional employees. Our Lead Dermatopathologist will have the support of the Senior Executive team as well as a Laboratory Manager, 6 Histology Scientists and an onsite typist. MyLab Pathology also have a fleet of couriers who pick up from approx. 30 locations across Brisbane. The MyLab culture is refreshingly collaborative and supportive, the role offers flexibility, with a technical set up at home being an option.

About You To be considered for the role, applicants must.
- Be registered in Australia as a medical practitioner with the Australia Health Practitioner Regulatory Agency (AHPRA)
- Hold a fellowship of RCPA or its equivalent.
- Be an experienced and established Anatomical Pathologist with a special interest in skin pathology.
- Be able to confidently report and provide consultative support with respect to tissue and diagnostic skin pathology.
