Pathology Collector - Bay Area

About the Company 
Our client is one of the largest pathology providers in Queensland, with a parent company that is one of Australia’s leading Pathology and Medical diagnostic service providers. 

Our client has accredited collection centres across South East Queensland.

About the Role
As a Pathology Collector / Phlebotomist you will be providing a high level of customer service and care to patients through phlebotomy, specimen collection, specimen management and administration duties. 

We have multiple positions available both casual and permanent with various hours available (full-time & part-time) at locations across the Northern Suburbs. 

Your duties and responsibilities will include: 

• Collection of blood samples from adults, children and infants.  Including collecting samples such as blood, urine, swabs and skin.
• Providing advise to patients on any special requirements prior to test procedures. 
• Registration of patients using pre-analytical management system
• You will maintain equipment, consumables and work areas in a clean, safe and well-resourced state.
• Maintain patient confidentiality.
• Deliver quality customer interactions of a high standard by ensuring a professional appearance and polite manner.
• Providing excellent patient care and a strong commitment to customer service
• Maintaining quality of service as per ISO 17025 accreditation and AS/NZS ISO/9001 2000 standards

About You 
To be considered for this position, you must be:

• Qualified with a Certification 3 in Pathology Collection
• Have a minimum of 6 months unsupervised venipuncture experience is essential, not including placement hours.
• Experience in ECG's and Holter monitors
• Eligible to work within Australia - Sponsorship is not available
• Possess a current driver’s licence, WWC Check & Police Clearance
• Have a good understanding of patient confidentiality
• Have strong communication skills
• Ability to work as part a of multidisciplinary team environment
• Ability to prioritise and work under pressure

The Benefits

• Permanent pay rate between $26-$28/hour depending on experience
• Casual pay rate between $33-$35/hour depending on experience
• Sign on bonus for permanent positions (if you are leaving a permanent position & have 12 months or more of experience)
